Hoots, Gems Postponed Due to Inclement Weather
Quincy, IL- The O’Fallon Hoots (14-11) made it through two and a half innings played against the Quincy Gems (12-15) before inclement weather postponed the ballgame on Saturday, July 1. The two teams were locked in a 4-4 tie when play was suspended in the bottom of the third inning.
The game is anticipated to be rescheduled, but no official information has been determined.
Inside the Box Score
- Nick Harms drove home two of the four Hoots runs in the ballgame.
- Braedon Stoakes was two-for-two at the plate before the suspension of play.

How it Happened
- In the top of the first inning, Harms singled to right field to score Stoakes and Maloy Heaghney. Later in the inning, Ethan Rossow would bring home Jack Meyer on a fielder’s choice to put O’Fallon ahead 3-0.
- In the bottom of the first inning, Quincy got two runs on the board from a pair of sacrifice flyouts courtesy of Lucas Loos and Jack Zebig.
- Heaghney stretched the Hoots lead out to 4-2 in the top of the second inning as he grounded out to second base with Zach Beatty scoring from third base.
- Quincy tied the game up in the bottom of the second inning on a solo home run from Harry Oden and a bases-loaded walk to Otto Jones, allowing Jimmy Koza to score.

The Hoots return home to CarShield Field for the first time since Thursday, June 22, as they take on the Jackson Rockabillies in a doubleheader matchup. Game one is set to start at 5:35 p.m. CST.
