Hoots Pour On Jackson With 7-3 Victory

O’Fallon Sweeps the Jackson Rockabillys with Impressive Power and Pitching

The O’Fallon Hoots sweep the two game series against the Jackson Rockabillys winning Tuesday evening’s game by a final score of 7-3. They won the first game, 16-8.

Hoots starting pitcher Ryan Hoshaw threw three innings allowing only one hit while striking out six.

O’Fallon broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth inning when third basemen Bryson Lofton hit an opposite field home run to left.

The Hoots added insurance in the fifth inning when Maury Weaver hit a two run home run to give O’Fallon a three run lead. They continued to pour the offense on when Baden Hackworth, Jack Meyer, and Michael Gould all hit RBI singles to give the Hoots a 6-0 lead.

In the sixth inning, designated hitter Ryan Stevens hit his first home run of the summer. It was a solo blast that made the score, 7-0.

Jackson would finally get on the scoreboard in the eighth inning thanks to Merik Carter’s RBI double and Kaleb Hall’s two run homer.

Markell Dixon shined in tonight’s game throwing the final six innings while striking out eleven batters for O’Fallon.

Dixon is credited with the win for the Hoots and Jackson’s Coby Rogers is given the loss. O’Fallon moves to 21-12 overall and 4-1 in the second half with the victory. Jackson falls to 23-12 overall and 6-2 in the second half. O’Fallon now holds the second half South Division lead via win percentage over Jackson.

The Hoots are back in action on Wednesday evening when they host the Alton River Dragons for a double header with first pitch coming your way at 5:35pm.
