Hoots Sign Catcher Lang for 2024 Prospect League Season

The 2023-graduate is ranked as the number seven catcher in the state of Missouri by Perfect Game

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of right-handed catcher Tyler Lang for the 2024 summer season. Lang comes to O’Fallon as a true freshman from the University of South Carolina-Upstate (USC Upstate).  

The 5-foot-8, 205-pound back-stopper played in 20 games last summer for the runner-up Adidas Athletics in the CarShield Collegiate League (CCL), recording only 2 errors in 116 ⅓ innings caught, while putting up a .377 OBP and .665 OPS at the plate. Lang attended Parkway West High School in Ballwin, Missouri, where, in his senior season, he logged a .265 BA, .457 OBP, nine hits and eight RBI in 34 at-bats for the Longhorns. During his junior season, the Chesterfield-native recorded a .462 BA, .604 OBP, .769 SLG, 36 hits and 21 RBI in 78 at-bats. The freshman has committed to play for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I USC Upstate Spartans this spring season, joining fellow Hoot Henry Zenor.
