Hoots Sign Drury University-Commit Byrne for 2024 Prospect League Season

The outfielder hit .357 with a .500 SLG for the Premier Baseball Academy in the CCL in ‘23

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of left-handed outfielder Kyle Byrne for the 2024 summer season. Byrne comes to O’Fallon as a freshman from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. 

The 6-foot-0, 175-pound outfielder played in 23 games for the 2023 Premier Baseball Academy club in the CarShield Collegiate League (CCL), recording a .357 BA, .493 OBP, and .500 SLG in 56 at-bats. Byrne attended Christian Brothers College High School, where, in his senior season, he recorded a .316 BA, .491 OBP, and .557 SLG with 25 hits, three home runs, and 25 RBI in 108 plate appearances, earning him first team all Metro Catholic Conference honors. The Chesterfield, Missouri-native had similar success his junior season, registering a .414 BA, .541 OBP, and .655 SLG in 37 plate appearances. The freshman will make his debut for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Drury University Panthers this upcoming spring season.
