Hoots Sign Freshman Outfielder Luna for 2023 Prospect League Season

The Chicago, Illinois-native holds St. Laurence High School single-season RBI record

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of right-handed outfielder Angelo Luna for the 2023 summer season. Luna comes to O’Fallon as a freshman from Parkland College. 

The 6-foot outfielder attended St. Laurence High School in Burbank, Illinois where he broke the Vikings single-season RBI record with 56. Luna also finished with the second-best single-season totals in program history for hits (55), runs (50), and doubles (17). The Chicago-native hit .437 with six home runs his senior year, earning him Class 3A All-State First Team and All-Conference First Team honors. Luna played for the travel ball team, Top Tier American, and was ranked 10th among outfielders in the state of Illinois by Prep Baseball Report (PBR) before making the move to play for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Parkland College Cobras. The freshman has played in 15 games for the Cobras this 2023 season, posting a .258 AVG, .378 OBP, .484 SLG, two home runs, seven RBI and nine runs scored.
