Hoots Sign Infielder Weaver for 2024 Prospect League Season

The graduate had a career 58 stolen bases at Mississippi Valley State University

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of infielder Maury Weaver for the 2024 summer season. Weaver comes to O’Fallon as a graduate from Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). 

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound infielder played 43 games for the Division I MVSU Delta Devils his senior season, registering a .238 BA, 38 hits, 15 RBI, 31 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases on the year. In 2022, Weaver was ranked 34th in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in steals with 25. The graduate finished his three year collegiate career at MVSU with a .277 BA, 139 hits, 62 RBI, 109 runs scored, and 58 stolen bases in 133 games played for the Delta Devils. The Fayetteville, Georgia-native attended Trinity Christian High School, where in his senior year, he ranked second on the ballclub in most offensive categories including hits (42), runs scored (33), total bases (55), and doubles (6). Weaver has one home run, five RBI, eight runs, and four stolen bases for the Hoots to start the 2024 season.
