Hoots Sign Left-Handed Hurler Darin for 2024 Prospect League Season

The freshman made two stars and registered 14 K’s in 18 innings of work for the Lindenwood Lions in 2024

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Daniel Darin for the 2024 summer season. Darin comes to O’Fallon as a freshman from Lindenwood University. 

The 5-foot-8, 175-pound left-handed hurler appeared in 14 games for the Lindenwood University Lions his freshman season, starting two games and finishing the year with 14 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched. The New Athens, Illinois-native attended Gibault Catholic High School, where, in his senior year, he helped lead the Hawks to an Illinois High School Association (ISHA) Class 1A State Championship. Darin put up a .393 BA, .726 SLG, 30 RBI, and 5 home runs in 84 at-bats, while registering 30 strikeouts in 10 ⅓ innings pitched for the Hawks that season. The freshman had similar success his junior year, hitting .452 and posting a .806 SLG, 42 hits, 6 home runs, and 39 RBI at the plate, while finishing the year with a 5-2 record on the mound and 76 strikeouts across 47 innings pitched. These numbers earned Darin all-state honors his junior year at Gibault Catholic High School.
