Hoots Sign Left-Handed Hurler Hoshaw for 2024 Prospect League Season

Hoshaw recorded a 1.88 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 22 ⅓ innings pitched for the CCL’s Shredded Cheese in ‘22

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Ryan Hoshaw for the 2024 summer season. Hoshaw comes to O’Fallon as a redshirt sophomore from Maryville University. 

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound hurler pitched in 11 games for the 2022 Shredded Cheese in the CarShield Collegiate League (CCL), posting a 1.88 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP, while recording one save and 26 strikeouts in 22 ⅓ innings pitched. This past summer, Hoshaw played nine games for the Richmond Jazz in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, registering 34 strikeouts in 34 ⅓ innings pitched. The St. Peters-native attended Francis Howell Central High School in Cottleville, Missouri, where, in his senior season, he logged a 1.00 WHIP, 2.63 ERA, and 15 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched, while putting up a .303 BA across his 33 at-bats for the Spartans. In 2023, the left-hander appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen for the Maryville University Saints, posting a 2-0 record with a 3.38 ERA and striking out 12 batters over 16 innings. Hoshaw will return to the mound for the Saints this upcoming spring season.
