Hoots Sign Left-Handed Pitcher Rubel for 2024 Prospect League Season

The freshman recorded four K’s in four innings pitched for the St. Louis Gamers in the CCL in ‘23

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Brayden Rubel for the 2024 summer season. Rubel comes to O’Fallon as a freshman from Maryville University. 

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound left-handed hurler threw four innings for the St. Louis Gamers in the CarShield Collegiate League in 2023, earning one win and four strikeouts. Rubel appeared in seven games for the Maryville University Saints his freshman season, pitching a total of 4 ⅔ innings with five strikeouts on the year. The Cottleville, Missouri-native attended Francis Howell Central High School, where in his senior year, he put up 47 strikeouts across 40 ⅓ innings pitched, finishing with a 2.60 ERA in eight appearances on the mound for the Spartans. The freshman had similar success his junior year, earning a 3.07 ERA and 53 strikeouts in his 45 ⅔ innings pitched, while hitting .277 with 13 hits and 12 RBI at the plate. Rubel has appeared in four games for the Hoots this season, recording a 2.57 ERA with six strikeouts and one save across seven innings pitched.
