Hoots sign Maryville Infielder Long for the 2023 Prospect League Season
O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of infielder Michael Long for the 2023 summer season. Long comes to O’Fallon as a redshirt freshman from Maryville University.
The 6-foot infielder, from Ellisville, MO, attended MICDS High School, where he had a .493 BA and .791 SLG at the plate for the Rams his senior season. Long committed to play at Central Missouri for the 2020 season, before transferring to Maryville this fall. Michael had a dependable 2020 summer season in the CarShield Collegiate League (CCL) with the Falcons recording a .302 BA, .603 SLG and 23 RBIs in 23 games played. In 2021, Long appeared in two games with the CCL’s Rubber Chickens, where he posted a .400 BA, 1.000 SLG, and 1.000 FPCT. Long will look to be a power presence in the lineup for the 2023 Hoots season.
