Hoots Sign Middle Infielder Simard for 2024 Prospect League Season

The sophomore hit .300 his freshman season at UMSL with 48 hits and 28 RBI in 160 at-bats

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of middle infielder Justin Simard for the 2024 summer season. Simard comes to O’Fallon as a sophomore from the University of Missouri-St.Louis (UMSL).

The 5-foot-8, 180-pound middle infielder is in his sophomore season with the UMSL Trojans, and has 32 hits, 24 RBI, and 20 runs scored in 101 at-bats on the year. During his freshman season, Simard registered a .300 BA and a .709 OPS, with 48 hits, 28 RBI and 29 runs scored in 160 plate appearances. The Ladera Ranch, California-native attended Tesoro High School in southern Orange County California, where, his senior year, he earned First Team All South Coast High School League honors, after hitting .400 with 20 RBIs and 22 stolen bases for the Titans, while also playing for the Team California club team.
