Hoots Sign Middle Infielder Wood for 2024 Prospect League Season

The junior hit .343 with 35 RBI and 15 stolen bases for Ranger College his sophomore season

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of middle infielder Kade Wood for the 2024 summer season. Wood comes to O’Fallon as a junior from Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). 

The 6-foot-0, 175-pound middle infielder transferred to MVSU for the 2024 baseball season, after spending two seasons with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Ranger College Rangers, where in his sophomore year, Wood recorded a .343 BA, 35 RBI, 34 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases in 52 games played. The junior had similar success his freshman year with the Rangers, hitting .309 with 18 RBI, 46 hits, 26 runs scored and 19 stolen bases across 50 games played. The Atlanta,Texas-native attended Atlanta High School, where he played both second base and pitched for the Rabbits. Wood is hitting .217 for the Hoots this season with six stolen bases.
