Hoots Sign Purdue Freshman Briggs for 2024 Prospect League Season

Briggs comes out of HS ranked as Minnesota’s number one catcher in his 2023 class by Perfect Game 

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of right-handed catcher Will Briggs for the 2024 summer season. Briggs comes to O’Fallon as a freshman from Purdue University.  

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound right-handed catcher played for the Academy of Holy Angels Stars, a private Catholic high school in Richfield, Minnesota. The Shakopee, Minnesota-native was a three-time Tri-Metro All-Conference honoree and was awarded Academic All-State honors, as well as, selection to the Minnesota High School All-Star Series his senior year. The 2023 graduate has been recognized as a top-ten player in the state of Minnesota among his class by BVM sports and was ranked as the state’s number one catcher in his class by Perfect Game. Throughout his high school and youth career, the backstopper played for the Minnesota MASH travel ball team for just under a decade. Briggs will make his debut behind the dish for the Division I Purdue University Boilermakers this spring.
