Hoots Sign Right-Handed Pitcher Brown for 2024 Prospect League Season

The freshman recorded eight strikeouts in 7 ⅓ innings pitched for the NJCAA Division I Lake Land College Lakers this season

O’FALLON, MO. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Wyatt Brown for the 2024 summer season. Brown comes to O’Fallon as a freshman from Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed hurler appeared in five games for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Lake Land College Lakers his freshman season, starting one game and finishing the year with eight strikeouts across 7 ⅓ innings pitched. The St. Louis, Missouri-native attended Affton High School, where, in his senior year, he hit .393 at the plate with 24 hits and 20 RBI in 61 at-bats, while recording 50 strikeouts in 26 ⅔ innings pitched for the Cougars that season. The freshman had similar success his junior year, hitting .395, while finishing the year with a 4-3 record on the mound and 70 strikeouts across 34 ⅓ innings pitched. Brown played travel ball for the St. Louis Recruits and was ranked as the 53rd overall player out of Missouri by Prep Baseball Report going into his freshman season.
