Hoots Stay Hot with Doubleheader Sweep of Full Count

O’Fallon Bats Dominate Scoring Nineteen Runs Over Doubleheader

The O’Fallon Hoots sweep the doubleheader against the Full Count Rhythm by final scores of 8-6 and 11-4.

O’Fallon was in control for the large majority of both contests only trailing for an inning and a half combined.

In game one, a five run second inning that was highlighted by a Maury Weaver two run double gave the Hoots a 6-0 lead. Full Count would begin chipping away from then on and had the tying plate with two outs in the ninth inning but Owen Schneider was able to strike out Brett Vondohlen to conclude game one.

Sam Cardwell earned the victory while Nick Judd was charged with the loss.

In game two, the Rhythm scored a run in the first inning on a Jackson Cauthron RBI single. The lead would not last though as the Hoots would respond with a six run second inning highlighted by a Ryan Stevens three run double and a Bryson Lofton two run double.

O’Fallon tacked on four more runs in the fourth inning, on a Weaver RBI single and an Andy Niebrugge three run home run that extended the Hoots lead to 10-2.

Alex Esker earns the victory and James Fordham is charged with the loss. With the two wins, O’Fallon moves to 16-9 on the season while Full Count falls to 9-16.

The Hoots are back in action on Friday, June 28th against the Alton River Dragons at CarShield Field with first pitch coming your way at 6:35pm.
