Hoots Strike Out Nine Bees in Game One Win

The O’Fallon Hoots (3-5) beat the Burlington Bees (3-6) 5-1 in game one of a doubleheader Thursday night at CarShield Field. Brock Barton, Anthony Klein, and Alex Adams combined for nine strikeouts in the victory. 

Barton, who got the win in the seven inning game, completed four innings, surrendering a hit, one earned run while walking four. Klein’s Hoots debut was a successful one, throwing two shutout innings in relief. Adams finished the game with a scoreless seventh. 

Colin Bergmann provided the majority of the offense, clobbering his first home run of the season in the third inning. The three-run shot put the Hoots up 4-1 and they never saw that lead go away. Six other Hoots recorded hits in the win.
