O’Fallon Soars to 12-2 Victory Over Normal

Two Home Runs from Tyler Lang Give the Hoots their Second Victory of the Second Half

The O’Fallon Hoots defeat the Normal CornBelters by a final score of 12-2 in eight innings of play.

After Hoots starting pitcher Ryan Sell was able to work out of trouble in the top of the first inning, O’Fallon tagged Normal for four runs thanks in large part to Baden Hackworth’s RBI double and Bryson Lofton’s RBI triple.

Hoots designated hitter Will Briggs added on two more runs when he hit a ground rule double to make the score, 6-0.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Hoots catcher Tyler Lang sent a ball out of the ballpark to straightaway center to add three runs onto the O’Fallon lead which made the score, 11-1.

Two innings later, Lang stepped up to the plate again and hit a solo home run to center field once again, putting the ten run rule into effect.

The Hoots dominant 12-2 victory moves them to 2-1 in the second half of play and 19-12 overall. Sam Cardwell is credited with the win after throwing 3.1 innings of one run ball.

The loss for Normal moves them to 3-3 in the second half of play and 17-18 overall. CornBelters starting pitcher Will Davidsmeier is credited with the loss.

O’Fallon is back in action on Sunday night as they will host the Jackson Rockabilly’s with first pitch coming your way at 6:35pm.
