O’Fallon, MO- The Hoots secured a 4-1 victory over the Danville Dans on a long and rainy night. After a two-hour delay, Evan Abercrombie replaced O’Fallons starter and cruised leading to win.
Small-ball was the name of the game for the Hoots offense as they scored three runs in the third and another run in the fourth all coming from aggressive base running. While the four runs were enough for the win, the bullpen was the story of the game.
Abercrombie, along with Cam Mosier, Carter Perry and Mason Lee shut the door on the Dans after Tanner Sullivan started and pitched well through 2.2 innings before a two-hour rain delay ended his night. Lee collected his second straight save on back-to-back days to finish the five-hour long game.
This win brings the Hoots to 7-3 in the second half of the season. O’Fallon hits the road and cross the Mississippi River for a matchup against the Alton River Dragons on Saturday night.
