Hoots General Manager Named 2024 Prospect League Director of the Year

The Prospect League recognized David Schmoll for his efforts off the playing field during the 2024 season

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, today announced that General Manager David Schmoll was named Director of the Year by the Prospect League for his work on the Prospect League Board of Directors. The Prospect League Organization Awards recognize the best of the Prospect League for their hard work put in each season as seen by their peers. Director of the Year is awarded to the member of the Prospect League Board of Directors who had the highest impact on the league before and during the 2024 season.

“I am honored to receive this recognition by my peers on the Board of Directors,” Hoots General Manager David Schmoll said. “I believe what we’re doing at a League level is making a positive impact for players, fans and teams alike and I look forward to continuing to build on what I believe is one of the best summer collegiate leagues.” 

Schmoll has been a leading charge as one of the league’s 18 Board of Directors, serving as both the Prospect League’s Secretary and Chair of the Scheduling Committee for 2025. The Fenton, Missouri-native has been General Manager of the Hoots since the team’s move from Hannibal to O’Fallon at the end of 2019. Prior to that, Schmoll was Vice President of Ticket Sales and General Manager of the River City Rascals for two seasons.
