Hoots Launch CarShield Collegiate League

Six-team league will play at CarShield Field started July 1

O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots today announced the launch of the CarShield Collegiate League to play at CarShield Field this summer. The League comes after the announcement of the Prospect League canceling the 2020 summer season.

“The CarShield Collegiate League will showcase local, high-caliber college baseball players to our great O’Fallon community,” Hoots General Manager David Schmoll said. “This spring and summer has seen players lose their seasons and fans lose sports. We are excited to still be able to provide community entertainment in a safe and responsible fashion.”

The CarShield Collegiate League will host a six-team league with teams made up of primarily local players playing all games at CarShield Field in O’Fallon. Each team will play 30, 7-inning games.

Team managers include Missouri State University Baseball’s Director of Player Development Joe Lincoln, former First Round Draft Pick Jake Burger, Maryville University Assistant Baseball Coach Justin Paulsen and former Lindenwood University baseball player and Director of Human Performance at P3 Josh Kesel. Rosters and additional coaching staff hires will be announced at a later date.

Single-game tickets will go on sale Monday, June 8 and a full schedule is available on OfallonHoots.com. To sign up for the priority wait list, visit ofallonhoots.com/single-game-tickets. Due to government required capacity limits, only a limited number of tickets will be available to each night. All-You-Can-Eat Mini Plans, Full Season Tickets and Group Tickets are available by calling the Hoots offices.

I am currently playing summer ball in North Carolina, I have to come back for a wedding and most likely won’t head back. I know this is early and a different question but when I come back, is there any teams that will need guys? I know this might change over the course of the next month. I am at UMSL and play the Outfield, any possibilities let me know! Thank you -Nathen Steen

I just received word from my son, Wade Stauss (SEMO), that he will be playing for one of the teams this season at Carshield starting July 1.

He was heading to the Northwoods League, but uncertain if they are going to play.

I will be providing housing this Summer for another player as well.

Is there a season ticket option for my wife and I?

Not sure if the players will be allowed guest passes for each game or if there may be any deals for a host family.

    Looking forward to coming out.
