Catfish Bring Bats to O’Fallon, Win 12-3 Thursday Night

O’Fallon, MO – The Cape Catfish were defeated in just seven innings on Tuesday when the Hoots built a 13-3 margin of victory. Only two days later, Cape beat the same Hoots team it lost to 12-3 at CarShield Field.

Cape poured in four runs in the third and fourth inning, respectively. Cape third baseman Cam Stratton hit a three-run home run in the third inning, which highlighted a five-hit inning. In the fourth inning, the Catfish put up six hits and Stratton and infielder Collin Senkpeil tied a game-high three hits at the end of the game.

O’Fallon used six pitchers to get through the game. Starter Ethan Milius allowed six runs, pitching just over three innings. Relievers Mason Burke, Gabriel Sieve, Nate Estopare and Grant Blair combined to allow just one run after Gavin Kinworthy gave up five to the Catfish.

Cape’s starter Jackson Gamble (Missouri Southern) allowed just two runs in the first inning before four scoreless innings gave him a win in his start. Behind Gamble, reliever Chapman Ogles struck out four Hoots in his first relief appearance of the season.

O’Fallon will play again Friday away from CarShield Field. First pitch against the Decatur Bean Ballers at Workman Family Baseball Field is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
