Hoots third-baseman batted .542, hit eight extra-base hits, over past week of play

Following a huge week where he helped propel his team to first place in the South Division, O’Fallon Hoots third-baseman Bryson Lofton was named Prospect League Hitter of the Week on Tuesday afternoon for the week of July 9-15.
A product of Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, Lofton appeared in seven games over the past week for the Hoots. During that stretch, Lofton hit .542 across 24 at-bats with a trio of home runs. Lofton also drove in 12 runs while crossing homeplate himself nine times. Additionally, his on-base-plus-slugging percentage reached 1.750. The Hoots as a whole compiled a 5-3 record during Lofton’s dominant stretch of play, and currently sit atop the South Division at 8-4 in the second half.
The season continues Tuesday night for Lofton and his squad, as they visit Full Count Rhythm at 7:05 p.m. CST.
