Strong pitching leads Thrillbillies to a 5-1 victory over O’Fallon
The O’Fallon Hoots are defeated by the Thrillville Thrillbillies, 5-1.
It was a silent night for the O’Fallon offense as they were only able to muster up four hits on Thrillville pitchers Mark DeCicco and Clayton Wright.
After three scoreless innings from Hoots starter Hayden Wilson, he was tagged for two runs in the fourth inning on a Jackson Lindsey two run home run.
O’Fallon scored their lone run in the bottom of the seventh when Kyle Byrne doubled with one out to lead off the inning. His older brother, Kaden, would then single him in a batter later to cut the Hoots deficit to one run.
Thrillville would respond with two more runs in the top of the eight inning, highlighted by a Cole Freeman RBI double and a Josh Griffin RBI single.
They scored one more in the top of the ninth when Mark Kattula scored on the Hoots third error of the night.
Wright earns the victory for Thrillville and Wilson is charged with the loss for the Hoots.
With the loss, O’Fallon moves to 29-25 on the season and 12-14 in the second half. Thrillville is now 30-23 overall and 9-17 in the second half.
The Hoots are back at home for the final time on Wednesday evening. They’ll host the Cape Catfish with first pitch coming your way at 6:35pm.
