Royalty prevails in O’Fallon

O’Fallon, MO- The Hoots welcomed in the Clinton LumberKings for the first of two games at Carshield Field and dropped the first game 11-8. Early offense wasn’t enough to hold Clinton from pouring in runs.

The scoring started on the very first Hoots batter as Sam Paule drilled a lead-off homerun. A second hoot scored in that same inning as Jake McGhee trotted home on a Nick Bonczkowski sac-fly making the score 2-0.

Things went downhill quick as the starter Nate Estopare allowed six runs in the second inning before being replaced by Bronco Whitt who had his best performance of the season going 2.2 innings and only allowing one run. O’Fallon made it a one-run game multiple times but could not get over the hill as Clinton got three crucial insurance runs in the seventh inning before Andrew Theiss shut the door for the LumberKings.

The Hoots host Clinton yet again on Sunday, June 14th for the last game of the home stand.
